And you said what?!

1800 hrs – Finding it incredibly difficult to focus on what piddly stuff I need to get done (paperwork, etc...good thing I don’t have to protect a job).

Heard today that a neighbor/friend whom I’d helped consistently for some years (the one who also helped me a great deal when I had surgery), a person who is famous for losing things, lost her cell phone. It would have been between KVMH clinic and her house, as I gave her the rides. It was no surprise to me at the time; I’ve seen her lose her SSA debit card, her EBT card, her (newer) credit union debit card...yada, yada, yada.

Thing is, she’s now told people that I took her phone when I dropped her back at her house. And, “the other thing” is...I own(ed) the phone. She had her own line on MY account because she couldn’t get a number with any major carrier; I talked mine into letting her have a number, and I’d pay for a new phone (at ~$35/mo toward a total cost of $600...it was a good phone) and the monthly charges. That worked really well. So, I asked her when I found out what she was telling people...what made her think I would want to steal my own phone? Why would I want to cut off her communication?

In other words...WTF?

So...if you heard that, I’m not going to shy away from her attacks. Y’all know me a lot better than that, methinks. I’m also not going to waste any energy on her negative crap.

Oh...and no, I’m not going to help her get another phone. I called Spectrum to brick it as soon as I knew it was really missing. Took her off the account; but told Spectrum that if they received a request to port the number to another carrier, I was OK with that. They agreed.

What a day.

Hopefully some better content later.
